The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program Eligibility

Eligible Countries: Malawi, Nigeria, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Zimbabwe are among the countries that have submitted applications.

Acceptable Course or Subjects: The sponsorship will be given in any of the university’s Postgraduate and Undergraduate degree programs.

Admissible Criteria: The requirements listed below must be met:

Applicants must be residents or citizens of a Sub-Saharan African country, and their personal circumstances must make accepting an offer from the University of Edinburgh difficult.

Academically, candidates must be qualified for admission to the University of Edinburgh.
Holders must be able to present economically disadvantaged circumstances and show that they lack financial means from family or other sources to pursue post-secondary (university) education in their home country or elsewhere; and

Applicants must demonstrate a track record of leadership and service within their community; and
